Interakt is a WhatsApp business suite that also does Instagram.

For most Indian businesses that shortlist both of these, the real question is whether WhatsApp is where the money is. If it is, this is a short page. If Instagram comments are the whole problem, the monthly you would be paying is mostly for a channel you are not using.

Checked Interakt’s own site

One of these is a WhatsApp business suite with Instagram included; the other replies to Instagram comments and nothing else. Everything about Interakt below was read from their own pricing page and checked on 24 September 2026.

Their plans, in their own numbers

Starter is free and limited to one channel — Instagram only or WhatsApp only. Growth is ₹2,799 a month plus taxes, or ₹2,240 a month billed yearly, and carries WhatsApp and Instagram together, bulk campaigns, a shared team inbox, FAQ automations and linear chatbot flows, catalogues, native payments and carousels, with unlimited Instagram DMs and comments listed on the Instagram side. Advanced is ₹3,799 a month plus taxes and adds branching flows with API calls and conditions, chat auto-assignment and advanced webhooks. Enterprise is on request and adds RCS. Their page also lists Meta's per-message template rates for Indian destinations separately, and states that GST is extra.

That is a complete messaging stack for a business that sells on WhatsApp. If that is you, buy it, and skip the rest of this page.

Ours, for contrast

Instagram comments and DMs, through the official Graph API. No WhatsApp, no campaigns, no catalogue, no payments, no RCS, no team routing beyond seats on the team plan. One credit is one reply written by the model. Replies sent from a template you wrote are free and unlimited. The free tier is 100 credits with no card, and packs start at ₹499.

The question is not which is better. It is whether you are buying a WhatsApp suite to solve an Instagram problem.

The case where we are the wrong answer

A D2C brand doing order updates, abandoned carts, COD confirmations and catalogue sharing has a WhatsApp business, not an Instagram one. Everything that matters happens after the sale, in a channel we do not touch. Paying us would leave that entire motion unautomated, and no amount of well-written comment replies fixes it.

Instagram, for that brand, is the top of the funnel — and even there, a suite that already holds the customer record is usually the tidier place to answer.

The case where we are the right one

A creator, coach, clinic or boutique whose funnel is: post a Reel, get comments, send the link or the price, answer the follow-up question, take the order in DMs. Nothing in that sentence needs a campaign tool. What it needs is for the comment to get a reply that sounds like a person, within the window, without you being on the phone.

What the comments you never answered are worth

You answer 18 of 60 a week and miss 42. At 12% those 42 are worth

7,560a week, unanswered

42 missed × 12% × 1,500. The 18 you do answer are already worth 3,240, which is the number worth protecting first.

What happens before any reply goes out

Ten checks run in a fixed order — kill switch, connection, takeover, window, dedupe, cooldown, quiet hours, rate budget, credits, content safety — and the first failure stops the send and records the reason. Takeover is the one teams notice: the moment a human replies by hand, automation stands down on that thread, which is the failure mode that embarrasses businesses most.

The ten checks that run in order before any reply is sent
Ten checks, one order, one recorded reason. Out of credits is a refusal like any other, and your template goes out instead of silence.

Setting it up

  1. 01

    Connect Instagram

Three permissions — read comments, reply to them, send the DM you wrote. Meta runs the login, so no password reaches us.

  2. 02

    Write the trigger

A post or your next post, then the words customers actually type. Matching ignores case and punctuation; negative keywords hold the reply back.

  3. 03

    Write both replies

The public reply under the comment and the private reply carrying the link or the price list. Both free, however often they fire.

  4. 04

Test on yourself, then go live

The test runs the real pipeline and the same ten checks against your own account, costs no credits, and nothing reaches a customer until you press Go live.

  5. 05

    Read Activity in week one

Sends and refusals with reasons, so a missing reply is something you can look up instead of guess at.

Both products sit inside Meta's limits either way — 24 hours to answer a DM, 7 days to answer a comment — as described in is Instagram DM automation safe. Both bill in rupees with a GST invoice; what that saves against a dollar-billed tool is worked out in the cheapest way to automate Instagram DMs in India.

The short version

WhatsApp in the plan is worth ₹2,799 a month when you use WhatsApp. When you do not, it is the most expensive unused feature in your stack.

When Interakt is the better answer

Interakt is the better buy the moment WhatsApp matters, and for most Indian D2C businesses it does. Their pricing page on 24 September 2026 lists bulk WhatsApp campaigns, a shared team inbox, catalogues, native payments, chatbot flows and Instagram together from ₹2,799 a month — we ship no WhatsApp, no campaigns, no catalogue and no payments, so a business selling on WhatsApp should buy theirs.

Questions people ask

What does Interakt cost?
Read from their pricing page on 24 September 2026: a free Starter tier limited to either Instagram or WhatsApp; Growth at ₹2,799 a month plus taxes, or ₹2,240 a month billed yearly, with WhatsApp and Instagram together; Advanced at ₹3,799 a month plus taxes with branching flows and API calls; and Enterprise on request. Meta per-message charges for WhatsApp templates are listed separately on the same page, and GST is extra.
Does Interakt cover Instagram properly, or is it a side feature?
Their pricing page lists unlimited Instagram DMs and comments on the paid tiers, along with price automation and giveaway features, so it is a real part of the product rather than a checkbox. If you want one inbox holding both channels for one team, that is a genuine advantage and we do not have an answer to it.
Why would an Instagram-only business pick PostEngage?
Because the monthly disappears. There is no subscription floor here: templated replies are free and unlimited, the free tier is 100 AI-written replies with no card, and packs start at ₹499. A business whose entire funnel is comments under Reels is paying a WhatsApp suite price for a WhatsApp suite it never opens.
Do WhatsApp message charges apply to Instagram too?
No. Meta bills WhatsApp template messages per message — Interakt lists those rates on the same pricing page — while Instagram messaging inside the official API windows does not carry a per-message charge of that kind. That is a Meta difference rather than a vendor difference, and it is one reason the two channels are priced so differently by everyone.
Can we run both?
Plenty of businesses would end up doing exactly that: Interakt for WhatsApp and a team inbox, us for the Instagram comments under a Reel that travelled. Keep the Instagram surfaces separated between the two tools, so the same commenter is not answered twice in the same minute by two different systems.
