Ambassador Programs: We Do Not Track Them. We Answer Them.
Let us clear the title out of the way in the first thirty seconds, because a reader could waste an afternoon otherwise.
We do not run ambassador programs. There is no ambassador roster, no application flow, no referral code generator, no discount code issuance, no link tracking, no click attribution, no commission calculation and no payouts. Nothing in this product can tell you that a sale came from Meera rather than Aditi. If that is what you came for, you need a referral or affiliate platform, and this is not one.
What we do is narrower and, if you actually run a program, unglamorously useful: we handle the inbound that an ambassador's post creates.
The part nobody plans for
Ambassador programs are usually planned from the ambassador's side. Who to recruit, what to send them, what to ask for, how to pay. That planning is thorough and it stops at the moment the post goes live.
Then the post goes live, and a hundred people who trust that person do the thing they were supposed to do: they come to your account and they ask. Not through the tracked link. In your comments, and in your DMs.

Those questions are strikingly consistent across every program we have seen:
- Where do I actually buy this
- Is the code she mentioned still working
- Does it ship to my city
- Is this the same one she used in the video
- Kitne din mein aayega
Five questions. Written down once, they answer themselves for the rest of the campaign, free and unlimited, because templated replies do not spend credits.
The honest version of "attribution"
You will be tempted by an obvious trick: give each ambassador a unique word to put in their caption, trigger on that word, and treat the resulting leads as theirs.
You can do that. The keyword field is just a keyword field. But be clear with yourself about what it is and is not.
Use it for what it is good for: routing. A person who typed MEERA came from a specific context and probably wants the specific product she was holding. That is worth knowing when you write the reply, and it is not worth a spreadsheet.
What the leads screen gives you, and what it does not
Every reply can capture the person to Leads. You get who asked, on which post, which keyword matched, and when. You export it as a CSV.

If you run a proper ambassador program with a real tracking platform, the reconciliation between that CSV and your platform is manual work you will do by hand. We would rather say that now than let you find out in week three.
The timing problem, which is specific to this
An ambassador post does not behave like your own post. Yours front-loads: most comments arrive in the first day. Theirs has a long tail, because their audience finds it through saves, shares and reposts over weeks.
Two windows govern what you can do about that.
A comment can be replied to for seven days after it is posted. After that, nothing — not by us, not by any tool, because the platform closes it. A DM thread stays open for twenty-four hours, and it restarts only when they message you again. You cannot reopen it by sending something.
So the practical rule for a campaign: the automation earns its keep in the first week of an ambassador post and does almost nothing in week three. Comments from week three still need a person, or they need nobody, and both of those are honest answers.
Writing the replies so they do not embarrass the ambassador
The person messaging you trusts somebody else, not you yet. That borrowed trust is the entire asset of the program and it is easy to spend in one badly-toned reply.
- Reference the context, not the person. "Saw Meera's post?" is fine and warm. Claiming a relationship you do not have is not.
- Answer the question in the private reply, and keep the public one short. The public comment is a receipt telling them to check DMs, not the answer.
- Do not upsell in the first reply. They asked where to buy. Tell them where to buy.
- Put
not interested, already boughtandstopon the negative keyword list. An ambassador audience contains a lot of existing customers. - Test it on yourself before it reaches their audience. A test runs the whole pipeline and delivers to your own account, so a bad tone costs you nothing.
The rest of the honest list
No affiliate tracking, and no link tracking of any kind — that gap has its own post, including the disclosure rules that apply the moment money changes hands. No creator search or discovery; we cannot find ambassadors for you, and that limitation is also written up. No WhatsApp, no broadcast, no nurture sequences, no scheduling or publishing. Official Instagram Graph API only.
What remains is small and real: when somebody's audience shows up at your door asking a question you have answered a hundred times, they get the answer in seconds instead of on Monday. Set it up slowly and you will know within a campaign whether that is worth anything to you.
